Understanding how your team's work time is distributed across different tasks and initiatives is key to effective resource management. The Projects feature, part of the Attendance module, lets you categorize tracked employee time, providing valuable insight into where effort is being spent.
📌 Note: Managing projects in Settings is available only for Administrators.
Create and Manage Projects
Projects are managed directly within your Attendance settings. This is where you'll create new categories and manage the status of existing ones.
Create a New Project
As an administrator, go to Settings > Attendance > Projects.
Click Add.
On the next screen, provide the Project name.
You can also select the project's Status:
Active projects are visible for employees to select when tracking time.
Inactive projects are hidden from the time-tracking list but will still appear in reports and summaries for previously logged time.
Click Add to confirm creating the project.
Edit or Delete a Project
As an administrator, go to Settings > Attendance > Projects to see your list of projects.
Click on the project you wish to edit or delete.
You can:
Change the Project name.
Change the Project status (Active or Inactive).
Delete project.
⚠️ Important: Deleting a project is irreversible. All historical time entries previously assigned to that project will no longer be associated with it.
Track Time to Projects
Employees can assign their time to a project when logging time, either in real-time or by adding a past entry.
To add a timesheet entry, go to the dashboard and use the live time tracker, or navigate to My Attendance view.
Press Add time on the day you wish to create the entry.
In the timesheet entry window, use the Project field to select the project the time refers to.
The timesheet entry will now clearly include the assigned project.
Reports and Summaries
Once your team is tracking time to projects, you can generate reports to analyze the data.
Basic Project-Based Reporting
To get a quick overview of work time distribution by project:
Go to Reports.
Select the Tracked time by project report.
Important: Make sure to select the correct work time calculation method (either hours and minutes or days and half days) that matches how the time was tracked for the projects.
Advanced Data Export
For more detailed analysis, you can export all timesheet entry data into a CSV file.
Go to Attendance > Statements.
Click the Export button.
Select the Timesheet entries option and click Export data.
In the generated file, you'll find a dedicated Project column, allowing you to use spreadsheet software for complex analysis of all tracked timesheet entries within the selected period and for the selected people.
