Getting started guide for employees

Here’s everything you need to know as an employee to get started with Tellent HR.

Updated this week

Welcome to Tellent HR! Your company will use this new Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to manage all employee-related tasks and information.

This guide will walk you through the basics of the system so you can get started quickly.

1. Getting started with Tellent HR

To begin, you will receive an email with a link to access the system for the first time. Follow the instructions to log in with your company email address and set your password.

Once you are in, you’ll see your personalized dashboard. This is your home base for completing tasks, viewing your information, and exploring other features.

2. Your employee journey

Tellent HR uses Journeys to streamline important processes like onboarding. Your onboarding journey is a series of guided steps and tasks to help you settle in.

You can think of your journey as a to-do list for your first few weeks. The tasks in your journey may include:

  • Updating your profile data: This is where you’ll provide personal details, emergency contact information, and more.

  • Uploading documents: You may be asked to upload important files, such as your ID or tax forms.

  • Completing general tasks: These are custom tasks your HR team has created, such as reading and acknowledging company policies or watching an introductory video.

Here’s a deeper look at Journeys.

3. Key features to explore

Beyond your onboarding journey, Tellent HR has several other features that will be useful throughout your time with the company.

Employee profile: This is your central hub for your personal and professional information. You can access and update your details here.

Organization chart: Want to know who’s who? The org chart gives a visual overview of your company’s structure and helps you find your colleagues. You can learn more here.

Time off: You can submit time-off requests directly through the system. To do this, click the “+” button at the top right of your account or go straight to the time off type from the Home page.

You can also add comments or attachments to your request. Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by an administrator or your manager for approval.

Time tracking & attendance: If your company’s time-off policy requires you to track working hours, you will see a time-tracking module on your dashboard. You can use it to log your daily attendance.

Documents: Your employee profile includes a Documents section. Here, you can find all your documents, contracts, and certificates.

Your HR Admin may change the layout of this section since the system allows for some adjustments. It’s also up to your Admin to decide whether employees can upload documents.

Expenses: If your company has this feature, you can manage all expenses in the Expenses section on the left. As an employee, you can submit an expense by providing the required information and then wait for your reimbursement.

When you create an expense, it will automatically be marked as “Submitted” and will need approval from your manager.

4. A note on additional Tellent modules

Your company may also use other modules within the Tellent platform to help manage the full employee journey, from hiring to performance and development.

Tellent Recruitee: This is a separate module for recruitment and hiring. If your company uses it, you might interact with Recruitee for things like referring a friend for an open position. More on getting started with Recruitee here.

Tellent HR (Grow): This module is focused on performance management and employee development. If your company has purchased this module, you’ll use it for performance reviews, setting objectives, and providing or receiving feedback. More about this module here.

📌 Note: The features you can access depend on the package your company has purchased from tellent.com. You will only see the modules relevant to your role and included in your company’s plan.
